Professional Grade: CV Nation Bonus Scene

We're shooting the bonus supplemental for the CV Nation webseries... and I find out there's a new character. That means new makeup. I learned about the character 3 days ago, and literally thought up the full makeup (which isn't fully realized even now) this morning in the shower. Sometimes you have to move fast.

This look, while fairly simple, still required a steady hand and a general sense of symmetry. I used surgical tape (using the eyebrows as a guide) to get the lines straight. The makeup is MAC Acrylic Paint (which is a staple for this show), and the silver is MAC Pigment with a bit of FACE Altlier Transforming Gel. General foundation is from the DMK Ebony Series palette.

As you can see, I was moving pretty fast and the back of the makeup isn't fully realized. For this bonus scene it doesn't really have to be (it will evolve as the character evolves), so the director forgave me... for now.
The bonus scene will go up 'before' the series finale, so they're shooting pretty quickly. Perhaps by the end of this shoot, I'll have realized the makeup a bit more fully.

Here's hoping.

  1. 1. During an action/fight scene, is there any smudging or displacement? (&) 2. How long does it take to apply?

  2. Application is very quick, but the skin should be dry to make sure it really adheres. The paint is sweatproof, but it will break with an oil base. So if your subject is oily, it might smudge with excessive oil production.
