I've had the Laura Mercier Lip Stain in Sugar Violet (cool berry) for some time. Recently, I picked up three other stains in Mulberry, Scarlet, and Mocha:
What's awesome about these stains is that they behave like a balm and look like a stain. They're sort of a 'dry balm.' They go on with little to no shine, and (for me) work best when really worked in with your fingers. I find that they look the most natural when you use your fingers. When you use a brush, you don't get the same color payoff and longevity.
Mulberry
Scarlet
Mocha
You can use them straight from the pot, with no priming or moisturizing required beforehand. It's really a genius product. I feel like you get the coverage of a stain without the commitment of a stain. These come right off a makeup remover wipe, with no residual staining.

Thanks for the review. I find that Laura Mercier makes some of the most beautiful products. I tried on a gloss stick today that was incredibly moisturizing with beautiful sheer pigmentation. I had no idea about the lip stains, though. I think I might have to pick up scarlet.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I agree.. Laura Mercier makes some great products. I think the brand is often overlooked. I also have the lip stain in Tempting Coral, but I think it was limited edition. I'll put up pictures of Sugar Violet in an upcoming post.
