FOTD: Urban Decay Naked Foundation

I took the Urban Decay Naked Foundation out for a test drive... it performed very well. My only concern is about skin type; this foundation literally glued itself to my oily skin and set immediately. I can't see this being so hot for drier skin types. I blotted once throughout a 10 hour day. I think the foundation also absorbs oil as it wears. I'd be really interested in seeing how it wears on a dry skin, because it seems to have all the answers for oily girls like me.

  1. That looks so great on your skin! Unfortunately it sounds like my dry skin wouldn't be too fond of it. How did you find the coverage?

  2. Thanks pixiemania. :-) The coverage is definitely a solid medium. I was told that you can build it up to full, but I wasn't able to do that. It goes on thin and smooth, and you can go over trouble spots with a little more, but the skin continues to show through. I'm really not sure that this formula would be ideal for a dry skin type. My oily skin seems to love it though.

  3. I like the finish of this foundation on you, it looks really natural and almost like you're not wearing any foundation at all. Did you use a regular foundation brush to apply it?

  4. Thanks. :-) I actually used my fingers to apply it. I always use my fingers when I'm first trying out a foundation, because it gives me a literal 'feel' for the formula. It spread evenly under my fingers with no problem. They call the finish on this formula 'demi matte' -- but I think it's a full matte. You need almost no powder after applying this foundation.

  5. I agree that it's very natural looking here, is it that way in person? How is the color match/undertone? I don't pay much attention to Urban Decay, so I didn't even know that it existed. But if something out there works for oily, brown skin, then I'm interested.

  6. It wears that way in person as well. The undertone on #8 is nice and yellow. The rep tried to give me #7.5 but the undertone was too 'cool' so it was totally ashy on me. This color wears a lot better. Now, since the foundation won't be available until September (I just have a sample) I can't make a recommendation because of price vs. ease of use, ect. But so far I like the way it wears.

    1. Thanks! :-) The finish is definitely very natural. And the bottle is pretty big on this foundation (at least it was on the show display) so I think there will be plenty of product.
