I spent Sunday afternoon with a group of Fabulous Females (and a few males) for an event called 'DIY on a Dime.' My job was to help some of the guests with practical makeup tips, to take them from simple to stunning, in a few easy steps... and maybe do a makeover or two. Turns out, a LOT of people were interested in my ideas. I hit the ground running, and worked pretty much up to the second the event ended.
Workspace:
The Senna Envelopes were the perfect tools for this event. Every color needed was at my disposal, from brow color to cheeks... highlighters and eyeshadows. Those things are absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend them. A whole bunch of brushes... a couple of Make Up For Ever Uplights, highligters from Inglot and Jemma Kidd... makeup removers... and I was pretty much good to go.
Here are some of the faces from my makeup chair:
Going to a party that night. Wanted sexy but soft and pretty makeup.
Also going to a party. Never wears makeup. Wanted to look as 'naturally' fabulous as possible.
Hung over from partying the night before. Wanted redness taken down and skin tone evened out.
Uber pale. Freaked out by the idea of color on her face. Wanted mostly natural makeup... with some 'fun' elements thrown in.
Works too much. Never wears makeup. Wanted to experiment with a little color.
Uber pale. Never wears makeup. Wanted to experiment with a little smoke, and a little color.
BFF's
Wanted a little color... we decided that a 'color wash' with some mild highlighting would work.
Intensified her eyes and cheeks, added a little highlight, and some soft color on the lips.
All in all, I had a good time. Worked my butt off, got to have some GREAT conversations, and may have ended up booking a couple of future gigs. I crawled home, ate more than I should have, played with my dogs, and fell asleep.
It was a good day.
