On the high(est) end, By Terry released six shadow sticks, that promise to do more than just wash you lids in gorgeous color.
Ombre Blackstar Pencils are also infused with Black Pearl Extracts and promise a 'smoothing glow.'
I have no idea what this means. But like most By Terry makeup items, these shadow sticks might actually be good for your skin... at least, that's the idea.
These are the best three to me (there are six total): Bronze Moon (bronze), Black Pearl (pearlescent black/grey), and Misty Rock (purple taupe)
All of these shadows have a pearlescent finish and blend out beautifully. They set reasonably well... but not as well as the Urban Decay variety. They'll stay put for the duration of wear, as long as you don't smudge them. I noticed that after I ran my fingers over them, they smudged a bit. So if you're looking for staying power, you might want to pass these by.
There's also the question of price. These retail for about $45 each. Not cheap. I've mentioned before that By Terry is not the way to go if you're looking to save $$.
I like these for layering and blending. I used the Black Pearl and Misty Rock in my 'Blackout' look:
I haven't tried to use them alone. When I do, I'll let you guys know how they perform. Overall, I like them... even with the slight smudge factor. They come off much easier than the Urban Decay variety, which might be a plus (depending on your skin type).
Covet Worthy? No. But they're nice if you just want to splurge.

These are so pretty and all look very pigmented! :)

ReplyDeleteThey're shadow sticks Sisi... they're supposed to be creaseless. I haven't tested that theory yet. When I do, I'll be sure to share the resuts!
